EILEEN ANN LANGAN (nee Moriarty), age 93, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born in Cleveland, OH on June 21, 1925 to P.J. and Anna (Sullivan) Moriarty.
She was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy and the St. Alexis Hospital School of Nursing, an active member of Gesu Catholic Church-involved in the parish Christian Life Community, Citizens for Freedom of Education and a volunteer for the poor and less fortunate.
Eileen enjoyed playing the piano, had a passion for gardening, love of flowers and a flair for floral design. She also had a love for world travel and family vacations, and spoke fondly of family trips to Cape Cod.
The center of her life, however, was her large, loving, Irish family. She was the mother of 9, "Grandma Cookie" of 27 and great grandmother of 40 and counting.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 58 years, James M., son, Timothy G., sister, Mary Alice Weeks, brother, Thomas W. Moriarty, and brothers-in-law, Richard Weeks and Chic Lauer. She is survived by her children, Jim (Cindie), Anne Tomsic (Tom), Joni Lorber (Joe), Tom (Char), Laura Gaffney (Glenn), John (Barb), Peter (Sherm), Molly Schierloh (Lee), daughter-in-law, Jeanie Langan, 27 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, sister Joan Lauer, and sister-in-law, Claire Moriarty.
