Elizabeth Carroll Dietzel
September 22,1931 - September 22, 2023
Age 92, passed away after celebrating her birthday with her family.
Carroll was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved spending time with her family. Carroll would have the entire family over for dinner every Sunday. She spent countless hours in the kitchen cooking and baking for the ones she loved. Carroll enjoyed traveling and retirement with her husband, George. They visited all 50 states and loved the winter months in Florida. Carroll took delight in gardening, bird watching, and appreciating all of nature’s beauty.
After raising five children, Carroll worked as the secretary of the Learning Center at St. Clare School. She was a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels and Christ Child organizations.
Carroll is survived by her children Daniel Dietzel (Louise), Mary Beth Cox (Jim), Katy Byrne (Jim), daughters-in-law Shelby and Maria; grandchildren Patrick Dietzel, Andrew Dietzel, Emily Huster, Dan Dietzel, Brian Dietzel, Elizabeth Supp, Maggie Cox, Lauren Dietzel, Joseph Dietzel, Jimmy Byrne, Patrick Byrne; great grandchildren Rowen, Boden, Tobyn, Claire, Chloe, Margot, Danny, Brian, Rose, John, Morgan, and Logan, her sister Sr. M. St. John, PCC (Nancy Gilmore), sister-in-law Nancy Sinnott and brother-in-law Robert Dietzel. Carroll is preceded in death by George Bernard Dietzel, her husband of over 68 years and sons Paul Michael and Bernard Patrick, her brother Colonel William Thomas Sinnott II; and sisters Nancy Murphy (Greg), Peggy Brock (Ted), Eileen Gold (Richard), Patricia Dusenbury (Bud), Jackie Rhoney (Richard).
Interment All Souls Cemetery. Family and Friends are invited to gather for Mass of Christian Burial 10 am Thursday at The Church of Saint Clare, 5659 Mayfield Road, Lyndhurst, Ohio 44124. FRIENDS MAY CALL AT THE MAHER MELBOURNE FUNERAL HOME, 5236 Mayfield Rd., Lyndhurst 44124 (East of Richmond Road) WEDNESDAY 6-8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carroll's memory suggested to The Poor Clare Colettines, 3501 Rocky River Drive, Cleveland, OH 44111.
