EVELYN A. GARDNER (nee Thorsell), age 81

Beloved wife for 50 years of the late James H. Gardner. Adored mother of James E. Gardner, Rebecca S. Gardner and Jennifer T. Steffens. Loving grandmother of Mitchell and Kathryn O'Linn, Samantha and James Gardner, Evelynn and Roger Steffens and Lynda and CJ Ventra. Great grandmother of Hunter Beau Karohl. Cherished daughter of Roy and Alvy (nee Norbo) Thorsell (both deceased). Dearest sister of Elaine Markey (deceased)(Tim), and Roy Thorsell (Carol).

Evelyn was born in Cleveland, Ohio August 29, 1941. She was a resident of Gates Mills since 1983 and prior to that in South Euclid. Evelyn graduated from Charles F Brush High School in 1959 and attended Central School of Nursing, which, led to employment at Huron Road Hospital. Evelyn left nursing to pursue a career in real estate. She was co-owner and broker of The Gardner Kennedy Group, Inc with her business partner, Mary Kay Kennedy since 1996.

Evelyn enjoyed traveling, reading, spending time with her family and friends and had an eye for fashion. She will be remembered as a spitfire, straight shooter, wonderful hostess of many dinner parties, having a great sense of humor and being extremely supportive of her family and friends.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Interment Gates Mills Cemetery - North. Funeral Service 11 am Saturday at MAHER-MELBOURNE FUNERAL HOME, 5236 MAYFIELD RD, LYNDHURST (E OF RICHMOND RD) WHERE FRIENDS MAY CALL 4-8 PM FRIDAY.
