Evva M. Evans

South Euclid, Ohio

Evva Matilda (affectionately known as Tillie) Mckinney-Hatch-Logan-Evans was born on 6/21/1931 in Omar, West Virginia and raised in Charleston, West Virginia to Francis and Roosevelt Mckinney Sr. who preceded her in death then adopted by Evva and Will Hatch, who also preceded her in death. Evva was also preceded in death by her sister, Bertha Mckinney-Hatch-Lawerence and brother, Roosevelt Mckinney Jr. Evva was married to Edward Logan (preceded in death), had a daughter, Deloriah L. Logan, and then later married to Earl (Bill) Evans and had a daughter, Michelle (Honey) Evva Evans-George-Jackson.

Evva graduated from Aracoma High School, an alumnus of West Virginia State College, earning a Baccalaureate Degree in Education and joined the Sorority Zeta Phi Beta; attended Western Reserve, Cleveland State University, Carnegie Institute, and HEW-PER Review, furthering her knowledge in Medical Technology.

Evva worked for and retired from both the V.A. Hospital in Cleveland and Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights. She also worked at Huron Road Hospital, Kaiser Permanante, Lutheran Memorial City Hospital, Brown Memorial Hospital, Charleston Memorial Hospital, Forest City Hospital, and St. Francis Hospital. Taught at Taylor Elementary School in Washington D.C.

Evva had several interests and hobbies: sports of various disciplines, music of genres, traveling, a huge fascination of trains, an avid reader, swimming, fishing, theatre, cooking/baking, dance, and gardening. Another venture, she became a cosmetologist/hairdresser, exploring beautiful hairstyles for women.

Evva leaves to cherish her memory: daughters Deloriah and Michelle; grand-children; Dennis, Donald, Latrelle, Curtis-Aaron, Abubaker, Tarik; great-grandchildren; Jessica, Emmitt, Jason, Evan, Ebonie, Anthony, Ty, Terrell, Great-grandchildren Curtis-Aaron Jr (Lil C), Elijah, Khai, Colson, Bella; Great-great granddaughter, Lillie; Goddaughter Kurtese; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Interment Private. Family and friends are invited to meet for Funeral Services 11:30 am Monday November 27, 2023 at MAHER-MELBOURNE FUNERAL HOME, 5236 MAYFIELD RD, LYNDHURST (E OF RICHMOND RD), where friends may call from 10 am until time of service.
