Ignatius "Frank" Giaimo

IGNATIUS "FRANK" GIAIMO, age 93, beloved husband of the late Janet (nee Fagan), dear father of Frank P. (Nancy Newman), Larry (Mary Ellen), Mary (David Chang) and the late Jane Hunter, father-in-law of Larry Hunter, grandfather of Christina Montgomery, Lena Newman and Caroline Giaimo.

Private Interment, Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

Born in Cleveland, Frank was a lifelong Cleveland resident. He attended Our Lady of Peace and Cathedral Latin schools. He was drafted into the Army Infantry where he served meritoriously during the Second World War. He continued to serve his country as a captain in the Army Reserve.

After the war, Frank earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Western Reserve University. Frank spent much of his career in sales; and some time as the proprietor of the Lion's Den tavern in Cleveland Heights.

Frank was a dedicated family man - married to Janet for 52 years, they raised four wonderful children. He enjoyed his retirement in Lakewood, where he was an avid volunteer at Saint Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church.

His many friends; Dolores, Don's Wednesday lunch gang, and family will remember him for his congeniality, love of opera, history and his love for his family.
