James F. Thompson, age 84, passed away peacefully on January 27th, 2021.
He was born in Cleveland to the late Robert and Mary (Vince) Thompson. He was the brother of Janice O'Toole and of the late Robert (Florence)Thompson. He is survived by his loving wife, Joan A.Thompson (Pranskevich); and children Linda F. Thompson, Leslie A. (David) Barni, and Lisa M. (Timothy) Zimmer; grandchildren, Kyle (Gift) Bradach, Spenser Thompson Meyers, Alexander (Mandy) Barni, Matthew Barni, Emily Barni, Margaret Zimmer, and Timothy Zimmer; great grandchild, Gemma Barni.
James proudly served in the Army National Guard Reserves, and was a Payroll Supervisor for Reliance Electric. His passions included bowling, golfing, and listening to the Cleveland Indians while gardening. He loved all types of music and embraced all things Irish. He loved sending birthday cards and hosting numerous get-togethers with family and friends. Music, drinks, and laughter were all on the menu.
The Hospice of the Western Reserve took excellent care of our father. Any donation you might want give would honor my father and all the care he received from the fine nurses, aides and support people that work for Hospice.

Family and friends are invited to meet for Mass of Christian Burial 10 am Wednesday, February 3 at The Church of Saint Clare, 5659 Mayfield Rd, Lyndhurst. Family will receive close family and friends at MAHER-MELBOURNE FUNERAL HOME, 5236 MAYFIELD RD, LYNDHURST (E OF RICHMOND RD) on Tuesday from 4 to 6 PM.
