Jane G. Cunningham (age 83)

Beloved daughter of Geraldine (nee Kirby) and William Earl Cunningham (both deceased) passed peacefully on March 9, 2023.

Jane was a proud graduate of Beaumont School and Kent State University where she earned two degrees in Sociology & Psychology and Education. She earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Cleveland State University.

She taught for 35 years in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and was principal for 17 years at Robert Fulton Elementary School. She is fondly remembered by colleagues, staff and students as an effective educator and efficient administrator.

Following retirement, Jane served as Docent with the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and an Interpreter at Cleveland Botanical Gardens. She tutored students and helped new educators through the Mentoring Program for 1st year teachers in Cleveland Public Schools and tutoring in the Cleveland Heights – University Heights Schools.

Through her own privately established foundation, Jane generously supported numerous Cleveland educational endeavors and institutions providing opportunities for aspiring students in teaching and nursing careers. She was especially proud to support institutions that played important roles in her life including St. Ann School, St. Paschal Baylon Parish, Beaumont and Kent State, The Cleveland Botanical Garden and Mayfield Women’s Club.  Her foundation will continue to support education and training endeavors.

She loved travel but gardening, reading, and attending concerts and plays were her passions. She made countless connections through her activities and she will be missed by all and fondly remembered by colleagues, neighbors and her dear friends.

Family and Friends are invited to meet for Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Saturday March 18, 2023 at St. Paschal Baylon Church, 5384 Wilson Mills Road, Highland Heights, 44143 with Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
