Joan Ruth McGervey

Joan Ruth McGervey, age 56, of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 2, 2023 with family by her bedside. She was born on September 11, 1966 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Joan was a graduate of Cleveland Heights High School and attended Case Western Reserve University where her father, John McGervey, was a tenured member of the Physics Department. She will be remembered for her love of reading and music, having attended some of the best artists in concert at every opportunity. She loved to laugh and was a friend to all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, William (Bill) Ranke; her daughter, Grace Ranke; and step-son Daniel Ranke; her mother, Nancy McGervey; sister, Anne McGervey Tomins; brother, Donald; nephew, Erik Tomins and niece, Kelly Tomins. She was preceded in death by her father, John McGervey. Joan is also survived by a host of friends who will miss her.

Interment Lake View Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to meet for Mass of Christian Burial 11 am Thursday at St Ann's Church at Communion of Sts Parish, 2175 Coventry Rd, Cleveland Hts 44118.
