Joan A. Thompson, age 85, passed away peacefully on February 19th, 2022. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, to the late Albert and Frances (Salsavage) Pranskevich; siblings include Albert Pranskevich and Catherine Knezevich. She had survived her late loving husband James F. Thompson; children Linda F. Thompson, Leslie A. (David) Barni, and Lisa M. (Timothy) Zimmer; grandchildren, Kyle (Gift) Bradach, Spenser Thompson Meyers, Alexander (Mandy) Barni, Matthew Barni, Emily Barni, Margaret Zimmer, and Timothy Zimmer; great grandchildren, Gemma Barni and Avarie Barni. Joan began her journey as a beautician downtown at The Statler, and eventually became a proud co-owner of her own hair salon, Glen-Gate Hair Fashions. Her passions included cooking, travel, dancing with her husband James, spending time with her grandchildren, reading at the beach, and swimming in her pool. She loved hosting numerous get-togethers with family and friends, welcoming everyone into her home.
