John M Francis

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John MacPherson Francis, 83, of Cleveland, Ohio, who passed away on August 3, 2023.

He was the loving husband of Barbara Fisher Francis (deceased). He was born on March 29, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio, to John W. and Helen Francis. John attended Cleveland Heights High School and later graduated from Western Reserve University.

John is survived by his loving daughters, Elizabeth Zielinski, Cristina Lourie (Joseph Lourie), Maria Francis, and his cherished grandchildren, Brittany Brown, Sarah Rodgers, Daniel Zielinski, Megan Zielinski, Joseph Lourie, Nicholas Lourie, and Grace Zielinski. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara, his parents, and his sister, Joan Morgan.

John had a strong faith and worshiped at Parma South Presbyterian Church. He was a very devoted Christian. 

In his free time, John enjoyed reading, following Cleveland sports, the Cleveland Orchestra and spending time outdoors. 

Interment Acacia Park Cemetery. Funeral Services 10:30 am Thursday at MAHER-MELBOURNE FUNERAL HOME, 5236 MAYFIELD RD, LYNDHURST (E OF RICHMOND RD) WHERE FRIENDS MAY CALL 5-7 PM WEDNESDAY.

John Francis will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His memory will forever be cherished.
