They lived at Little Sisters of the Poor on Richmond Road for many years, enjoying great fellowship and ministering to the elderly. Later they found a new home in Marymount Village at Marymount Place and later at Villa St. Joseph where they shared their days with new friends of their generation.
Bill was a faithful husband to Barbara and father of their 5 daughters and 4 sons. He was known by all for his optimistic attitude and outgoing personality. He was a faithful follower of Jesus. He served Christ by serving others as a committed volunteer for a variety of ministries and organizations through the years. Bill was the epitome of a "people person." Affirming and encouraging words were always on his lips. His love for God and His Word increased in depth over the years. He enjoyed reading and being read the Bible, especially the Gospels, up until his final days.
Bill began his career as a bricklayer, sold insurance in his middle years, and concluded his working years by starting O'Brien Masonry. With his hands, he repaired brickwork; but with his life, he built up his fellow man."
The family would like to thank the administrators, the medical staff, the support staff, the custodial and the food service staff at Marymount Place and at the Village of St. Joseph and Clare Hall for the tender care for both John and Barbara. We appreciate the many kindnesses over the past years.
