John E. Tetzlaff, Jr.

John E. Tetzlaff Jr, 48, son of Dr. and Mrs. John and Susan Tetzlaff of Shaker Heights, Ohio, died March 21, 2026 in Mission, Texas.

John Jr was a proud US veteran, first serving as a Marine in UN peacekeeping efforts in Bosnia, and then serving in the Army, completing multiple tours as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was also an avid runner, a standout for Shaker Heights Cross Country and Track teams (class of 1996). John Jr was an animal lover and had a gentle spirit interacting with them, especially with his dog, Precious.

John Jr was deeply loved by his family as a grandson, son, brother, nephew, and cousin, but the role he enjoyed most was being a fun-loving uncle to his nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his supportive friends in Texas. A private family service will be held to honor his memory.
