Marjorie E. McCracken

Marjorie E. McCracken (nee Geyer), age 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.  Beloved wife of 65 years of Richard H. McCracken; dear mother of Richard Calvin (wife Nancy), Mark Andrew, Joel Geyer (deceased), and Ann Rebecca; grandmother of David, Matthew, Daniel, and Andrew, Joel D., and Micah, and Grace.  Born August 13, 1931 to Henry A. and Gladys V. Geyer (nee Cowdery) in Pittsburg, PA.  

The Geyer family moved to Cuyahoga Falls, OH where Margie first met Richard.  Margie loved music.  She sang in the choir and played trumpet in the marching band at Cuyahoga Falls high school where she graduated.  Later in life, she would graduate from Case Western Reserve University.  On August 23, 1952 she married Richard in Cuyahoga Falls.  A year later, they both committed their lives to Jesus Christ and vowed to love and serve Him together. The couple moved to Youngstown and started a family there.  As their family grew, Margie and Dick moved to the Cleveland area where they joined Bethel Baptist Church (now Church on the Heights) and quickly became an integral part of the fellowship of believers there.  It was to become their spiritual family for many years to come.  Margie was a beacon of love and hope to all who knew her, reflecting the light and love of Christ in her life.  She would readily share God’s source of strength, hope, and joy in her life to anyone she spoke with.  Margie will be greatly missed by family, friends and all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Church on the Heights, Saturday, December 3rd at 10:30 am with Pastor Toby Shope officiating.  The McCracken family extends a gracious invitation to all to attend a reception at the church immediately following the service until 1:30 pm.  Interment will be held privately.
